SYNC  Yoga & Wellbeing

Classes

We offer multiple disciplines of yoga and wellness classes, designed to fit the needs and goals of all students. We encourage you to try several classes and find the styles that most appeal to you and give you the most fulfilling experience. The benefits include, but are not limited to, increased flexibility, strength and balance, enhanced function of the lymphatic system for cleansing the body of toxins, and a better night’s sleep.

FLOW
This class is intended for all levels and is beginner friendly as well; yoga poses are linked together, variations are offered to meet your needs whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner. Emphasis in these classes is placed on linking the rhythm of your inhales and exhales with the movement of your body so that you can create a flow that meets your needs. All FLOW classes include a final meditation as well.

FLOW +
This class is also intended for all levels, but the physical poses, variations and transitions offered may be more complex. Beginners are welcomed, just mention to the instructor that you are new to yoga. Though the movements may be more complex, the emphasis in these classes continues to be a linking of the rhythm of your inhales and exhales with the movement of your body so that you can create a flow that meets your needs. All FLOW + classes include a final meditation as well.

DEEP STRETCH
This is a 75-minute class designed for all levels and is beginner friendly with different variations offered for new practitioners as well as seasoned practitioners. Yoga poses are linked together, with emphasis on the rhythm of the inhales and exhales, to build heat and energy, along with a balance of poses that allow for extended holds, passive & resistive stretches and deep floor work. If you are typically drawn to a vigorous physical practice, this class can be a wonderful weekly addition to your practice to help you create balance within your physical body and your life.

BE YOGA
This class is a 90-minute experience designed for students who are interested in a more traditional presentation of yoga that includes discussion of yoga philosophy, breathing techniques (pranayama), yoga as a life tool, yoga poses, and a longer meditation.

YOGA FUNDAMENTALS
This 6-week series is offered periodically at the studio and is open to beginners and seasoned practitioners who are interested in learning or coming back to the foundations of yoga, and how it can be incorporated into your life. Emphasis is placed on creating safe and effective alignment in yoga poses, which allows you to maximize your participation within other types of classes as well.

RESTORATIVE

Restorative classes offer a time and place to explore the art of relaxation, rejuvenation and deep tissue release within gentle poses, created with the use of props such as bolsters, balls and blankets. Poses are held for several minutes to allow for processing within the body and mind. The lives we lead are often so busy and full, we forget to take time to care for ourselves and to relax. This class will remind you of why you need to create time for yourself in this way in order to stay centered, balanced and content. If you are typically drawn to a vigorous physical yoga practice (as many of us are), you probably need this class more than anyone!

ZUMBA

ZUMBA is a dance fitness program created by dancer and choreographer Alberto "Beto" Perez in Colombia. It combines international music with dance, making movement and exercise fun and invigorating.

DRUMMING
Join with others to create sound, rhythm and a sense of community. Bring your own drum if you have one, or borrow one at the studio. Learn basic West African drumming techniques and rhythmic patterns on the Djembe and Djun Djun, as well as the history of various dances, ceremonies and rhythms. We offer a weekly drum circle experience on Friday evenings starting at 730/745, and also offer a Beginner Drum 6-week Class series periodically, 630-730pm on Fridays.
